How to Install Old and Incompatible Programs onto Windows Vista from CD:

There is a way to install old and incompatible programs that were designed for Windows XP or older OS systems onto Windows Vista. Follow the steps:

1. Insert a CD-ROM with an old program
2. "Explore" CD in "My Computer" window
3. Locate the file that is called "setup" or a related file that is launched when the program is being installed
4. Right-click that file and choose compatibility mode that corresponds to the operating system for which that program was designed.
5. Click Apply and OK
6. Double-Click that file to install the application.

A technique is being described that allows removal of trojan horses and viruses:

In order to remove unwanted and malicious software script such as viruses and trojan horses from the affected computers do the following:

1. Open the case and take out the affected HD
2. Insert the HD into an external enclosure designed for 2.5" or 3.5" HDs.
3. Connect to an unaffected PC and run the anti-virus software on the data of the HD in the enclosure.
6. Remove HD from the enclosure once every virus/trojan is found and eliminated and connect it to the PC.
